One of my local dealers said the TRD lift kits 2.5" were now discontinued vs on stop sale. I know there are better/cheaper kits but still pretty bummed since I leased my truck.

Has anyone heard anything new about this?

I call into question the fundamental assumption that your dealer provided you with accurate information vs just saying "I don't want to put in the effort on this, go pound sand".

If new trucks stop being delivered with it as a factory option for a few months, I'd be inclined to believe it. There is too much money on the table for Toyota to kill it off entirely.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Just caught me off guard when he said discontinued vs stop sale and he actually said aftermarket would be the only way to go. Maybe they were getting lots of calls asking the same thing?

I did speak from someone from Toyota Brand Engagement at their HQ as well, they said they didn't have any info on parts and only parts departments at dealers would have updates they can't see. They also mentioned issues with supply and the kits probably being prioritized for new trucks or something.

Just wanted to post to see if anyone has heard anything new from other dealers since it has been on stop sale for a while now it seems and I'm new to the Tacoma space so just wasn't sure.

I was just at the dealership this week for my first service and they said the lift kit was on stop sale after checking for me. Multiple service dept guys echo’d this. I think they’re waiting for it as well :cwl:

If Toyota issues these as discontinued how would one handle issues with the replacement parts if you had purchased a truck with the lift kit. If one of your control arms broke or if you had issue with a spring etc.... How would you replace the parts in kind if there not available? Makes we wonder if spare parts would not be available why would you order option 6K if buying new?

I took it as the kit itself is discontinued to order for those of us that wanted to install it on a already owned truck Buying new would be a different story I guess.

I'm hoping that dealer just worded it that way to brush me off and I was hoping others might have heard something.
