What is the recommended waiting period for a new truck? I currently have 120 miles on the odometer. I’m looking to do the stage one tune.

That’s 115 too much. We tuned ours with 11 & 6 miles.
In all seriousness it just depends on when you’re ready to do it. Can’t go wrong with it either way.

I got the OTT tune on my hybrid around 10k miles. Pissed I didn’t get it earlier. It absolutely rips and shifts smoothly. Why would toyota sell us such a watered down version.

Had the OTT Tune done this morning. So far so good. It’s subtle but noticeably smoother acceleration in normal mode. Also improved throttle response. I have not tried sport mode and eco mode is stock. Cole was great to work with at Cemented Tuning

Can the tune adjust for larger tires or any modifications? Or is it just a basic tune upgrade for each truck thats the same? Regardless everyone seems to be happy and its on my list of upgrades. Hopefully next sumer is when I can make it happen.

It wont correct your speedometer for larger tires, but we can tailor it to offset the effects of the larger tires you fit, thats no trouble.

We offer our Stage 1 package as our "Base" calibration. If you want or need to step it up a notch, we also offer full custom calibrations for an additional fee. We offer VFTuner and COBB Accessport with "base" and "custom" options.

When you're ready to proceed, reach out to one of our retailers who's nearest to you, or contact us directly for a DIY option.

Best,
Justin

Hi Justin, I would be using Luke Smith / High Country Tuning for my 2026 hybrid but I have a question. I have my OBDII port taken up with a Banks iDash Pro gauge, I assume you just need to pull it in order to do an ECU flash for a base tune or does there have to be a dongle of some kind in that port full time?

Dan,

You'll be able to retain your iDash, as our tuning solution will not require anything to be plugged into the OBD2 port. We flash directly to the ECU using custom cabling, so you won't even have to uninstall/unplug the iDash during your session.

iDash is a pretty neat product, and we've got some ideas we'll pass along to help them make it even better for the community.

@JustDSM

Would like to have an iDash Pro in the Trailhunter…are you saying our OTT tuner folks can help or are you going to gin up a write-up?

Absolutely. Anyone running an OTT calibration can use an iDash today. There is nothing about our calibration or flashing process that prevents it from being used.

We're also working with @Banks Power on a way for our retailer network to provide and/or facilitate the purchase of Banks products. While still in the works, we are excited to integrate the iDash into our calibration/support workflow for those who want visual access and datalogging capability of engine and transmission parameters.

I think it has the potential to be a really useful tool for our customers. Beyond displaying a pretty wide range of vehicle data, its datalogging capability gives us another avenue to work directly with customers after the initial tune if we ever need to look at something remotely.

Once we've had a little more time with it and have worked with the Banks engineers on getting some of the specific PIDs we'd like available, we'll put together some OTT-specific guidance for our customers. I.e., what channels to monitor, what we'd want logged, and how we'd recommend configuring the iDash for that purpose.

So if you want an iDash Pro in the Trailhunter, you certainly don't need to wait on us. The more OTT-specific setup/instructions are what we're working toward now.
