I found this really nice plug and Play kit with a high quality OEM plug and hard plastic overmolded resistor.

You could DIY for cheap, but I didn't want to splice any wires

The fan is pretty loud and you can still hear the hybrid motor... Trust me there is plenty of noise without this thing.

It makes plenty of noise without this... There are some non-hybrid 4cyl vehicles that are quieter.

True. If I had my druthers, I’d change the sound from Jetsons to riffs from the bands of Donna Summer, Joan Jett or Prince. Oh, I’ll be modern and add Taylor Swift.

The sound is required by law, including when it triggers and how loud it is. It's not for you to judge whether "other noise" is loud enough for the blind.

Yes, it's required by the DOT for that reason. By disabling it, if you are in an accident and the Insurance Co. Finds out... might not be the best move.

Here's the federal code and yes, there's a minimum sound level and tone it needs to meet.

You can easily slip your hand between the skid plate and the front bumper.

I tried gorilla tape and it actually worked pretty good..
