I have a 2024 Sport and I added a RCI crossmember so that I could add a OEM skid plate. The OEM red tow hook hits part of the crossmember and I had to crank down the bolts to get it to sit flush. I think I was at about 70ft lbs. it looks straight and flush. Has anyone encountered this issue?
75 lb-ft. is the torque spec for them. Guess they needed to be at spec. torque. ?‍♂

Anyone know the actual torque specs for the OEM front tow hooks on the off-road? I took mine off to paint them but I don’t trust the torque specs I find online after putting my factory predator steps back on (until I get some sliders) and snapped a bolt torquing it down to the spec found in a Toyota installation guide I found online. So I went to hardware store and bought all grade 8 bolts. Wondering if I should do the same especially with the tow hook hardware

I've taken mine off and on several times at the 75 lb-ft. spec. Even Sxth Element marks theirs for 75 lb-ft.

I agree that the factory hardware doesn’t seem to be the best. I rounded off one of the nuts when doing the exhaust delete. Given that it happened during removal and not tightening, the torque spec wouldn’t have helped me though. My “solution” was to order these front recovery points so that I could get free shipping on a replacement nut. ?

Is Sxth Element a legit site? I put in an order for the front and rear recovery hooks about a month ago and no word yet…
I've ordered and received their CAI and the rear recovery points. I haven't a clue why you are having issues with your order. I feel their products are high quality, so your issues are unexpected.

That is where I got mine too - $122 plus shipping. I put them on this morning.

They fit where the stock tie downs are mounted, so I assume that they will fit on any trim.

TacoFreak - what did you pay for shipping? I went to genunie OEM Toyota parts and the Shipping is like $80. Is that what I should expect? Where is everyone getting OEM parts that are shipped for a reasonable cost? Every online part reseller wants to charge an insane shipping fee.

I will have to check. I think they came from a dealer somewhere in the midwest and shipping was reasonable, but I could be wrong.

My front tow hooks came from: https://autoparts.elmhursttoyota.com

The PN is: PT974-35250 and the price is $123.90.

They don't quote shipping though until you add ALL of your info, so you need to check. They are pretty heavy, so probably not cheap, but I never found my receipt.
