Uhm, wow. That is really dead!!!! Your truck has an AGM battery and should be replaced and not charged. AGM batteries degrade rapidly below 12.3 VDC. Dealer should replace and something is really wrong to discharge like that in 2 weeks.

Please keep me informed on what is found.
Ok thanks.

My Sport Hybrid has been in the body shop now for 3 weeks. It is still reporting doors, windows and hood open. I am picking it up tomorrow (I hope) and I know it has not moved except from main shop floor to the paint room which is about 100 feet. I am assuming the battery is good as I am not getting any alerts for low battery just for the open doors and windows.

No alternator in my truck.

I have a Redarc BCDC Alpha in my truck for my campers house battey, and luckily it has a backcharging function. So I can choose to back charge 50 amps into my starting battery from my camper. I dont need to do it for very long though.

Since these truck mostly start off of the hybrid system, I think it only needs to see somewhere around 12v to start (I could be wrong about this). I need to do some more testing, but I am suspecting thats the case.

I've never had the cover under my rear set off, so I didn't realize it had an AGM battery. I agree that for @Tom Sellick's battery to quickly go down to that level there must be an unusually large draw. I hope his dealer figures that out and shares what they find.

Whenever I replace my 12V I will get an Optima deep discharge battery, which sounds like what these trucks need.

The truck started up with the jump pack so at least that's good. Toyota is going to test the battery this afternoon and we will see what they say.

Went to the dealer. They charged the battery and ran battery test. The battery passed the test. He says he can’t replace it unless it comes back with a code. As for the drain issue…..who knows. I’ll see how things go over the next little while. Definitely buying a jumper pack. It took all of 5 seconds to start the truck once the roadside assistance guy showed up with that. The dealer did say that Toyota is apparently aware of these issues and are working on it…..he also claimed it’s very common across their model line.

Thanks for the update. Keep an eye on it and check the voltage. Good time to check is after it has sat overnight and before it is started and allow to charge. Good to let a AGM sit for about 12 hours. Rule of thumb is if it is below 12.7 volts DC at rest, it is on it's way out. You can google info on AGM recommendations, definitely different that standard Sealed Lead Acid batteries in most vehicles.

I have seen multiple reports from people with dead 12V batteries in 4th gen hybrids. It seems like Toyota is aware, because they added an alternator to some of the 2025 models.

I can see them missing that on 2024's because Toyota thought they had a sound design. What I don't understand is them not putting alternators on every 2025 hybrid, or what they will do for the rest of us without alternators. Time for me to pick up a jump pack too, because I work from home and my truck can sit for a week or more sometimes.
