I've used the folding grab handle on the front passenger side and I always feel like it's a little weak. I really like the sturdiness of the grab handles for the rear entries. I wonder if that would be too disruptive on the A pillars though.

I am very interested in both Driver and Passenger sides. Getting into my 2024 Pro is a challenge.
  • Have you felt the need for A-pillar handles in your 4th Gen Tacoma?
Yes, very much so!
  • What kind of design or materials would you prefer (OEM-style, off-road rugged, leather-wrapped, etc.)?
OEM Style look, but with a good solid grip unlike the OEM current passenger side.
  • Do you have concerns about installation, fitment, or compatibility with airbags or trim?
Yes, absolutely.
  • Any other features you'd love to see included?
It needs to be strong enough to hold the weight of a 300 lb size man.
  • And one more thing — what would be a fair price range you’d be comfortable paying for a high-quality A-pillar grab handle kit?
It should be less than $150, or $250 for a set of both driver and passenger.

I am willing to test one out.

I was going to write a reply, but @JimScotty0 already did it for me, so +1 to what he said!

Definitely interested in both sides. The missing one on the driver's side is a pain and the passenger side is tough for my wife to navigate.

somewhere to mount an AMP plate for 20mm ball mount.
I agree that phone mounting locations can be a challenge, especially if you want to charge as well. The OEM charger in my Tacoma is not convenient but is out of the way...

100% Yes. As far as Price... Make a fair profit, nothing wrong with that.
Definitely following this.

I think by now you have a pretty good idea on what we would like to see. :like:
OEM style seems to be the most preferred (myself included) and doing away with the sad excuse on the passenger side.
Less than $150 for both would get me to buy.

As for what else we are looking for?
Can you do something for the 5th generation 4runner? My GF lifted her 2021 and is now ALWAYS complaining about not having anything to grab onto unlike her 2008 4runner.

Willing to be a beta tester also if you need more. 🤔

I would much perfer something akin to what I installed on my taco but also for the driver's side. The hardware is all there. the only thing I wish for my install is a better pastic cover for it. The OEM plastic cover is like $3 bucks so a proper one for the grab handle should be no more than 10 or 15.

OEM look. Sturdy and doesnt have give or creak. Similar to the ones in the back row. Full handle as opposed to the weird thing on the passenger side. If it was high quality and not super invasive to install I would easily shell out $150.

Please take my money! My preference would be to have it designed to OEM specification such that it looks like it belongs - the way they should have come from the factory. Full grab handle, not like the passenger side finger hold. Develop both sides please, and sell them as a set.

I will happily beta-test anything you produce and document my feedback diligently and in a timely manner.

I think $150 to $200 USD for the pair would be a fair price. As someone said, you have to make a fair margin for your efforts and expense.

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to share that we’re currently developing A-pillar grab handles specifically for the 4th Gen Toyota Tacoma!

We’ve noticed that many owners find it a bit challenging to get in and out of the new Tacoma, especially after lifting the truck or adding bigger tires. These grab handles aim to greatly improve ease of entry and exit, providing better support and comfort without interfering with airbags or trim aesthetics.

Before finalizing the design, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Have you felt the need for A-pillar handles in your 4th Gen Tacoma?
  • What kind of design or materials would you prefer (OEM-style, off-road rugged, leather-wrapped, etc.)?
  • Do you have concerns about installation, fitment, or compatibility with airbags or trim?
  • Any other features you'd love to see included?
  • And one more thing — what would be a fair price range you’d be comfortable paying for a high-quality A-pillar grab handle kit?

Your feedback will directly influence our final product, so feel free to be honest and detailed!

We’ll be offering early product photos and perhaps even a few beta test opportunities for forum members 👀

Thanks for your time and input!

A driver's side grab bar is desperately needed with a hole in the grab bar for one's finger to go all the way through to get a good grip. The same for the passenger side. The material should match the OEM colors and be of high-quality UV-resistant ABS. The price should be <$100 or <150 for a matching pair of Driver and passenger sides. Availability ASAP is much appreciated.

OE would be cool to match the existing. I hate the existing. Make it functional. An actual handle you can use. I’d replace the passenger too.
Bonus points if you make it with Molle mounts for an accessory (scan gauge, switch panel etc)
For the OE style hand hold $50
Improved handle $75-100
Improved plus mount option $120

Thoughts:

Must not interfere with ANY safety devices
OEM(+) Look and feel
Potential pairs to also replace ridiculous passenger side wedge
Optional Leather (Soft-Tex) smooth or perforated. Alcantara option?
Colors to match interior
Relative ease of install
$125 - $150 each. Discount for pairs (Driver & Passenger)

Update on Carlimeki A-Pillar Grab Handles – Thank You for All the Feedback!

Hi everyone,

First off, thank you all for the overwhelming support and valuable feedback on our upcoming A-pillar grab handles for the 4th Gen Tacoma!

Here’s a quick update on our progress:
Our first release will be the driver-side A-pillar grab handle, designed to match the OEM-style passenger side handle with the finger slot design. We’ve created a 1:1 mold based on the original, and the texture and appearance will be identical to the factory passenger-side handle.

We’ve also heard your requests loud and clear for a full-grip version similar to what’s found on the 3rd Gen Tacoma. Our team is currently working on this version—we’ve 3D printed a prototype but have not yet moved into tooling. This version is still in early development and may take some time to bring to market.

In the meantime, you can expect the finger-slot version (driver side) to be available within the next 1–2 months.

Installation video is now live:
Let us know—do you find the install process straightforward or a bit tricky?

Looking forward to your thoughts!
