Just saw the video and looks pretty simple. One bit of constructive criticism would be at the 10 second and 2:00 mark. It mentions factory screw"S". Only saw one being removed so someone that is not to sure on DIY could get confused. Besides that, seems like this could be a winner.

Glad you are aware that the majority will want the full grip handle and will continue working on that too. The factory finger slot handle is just not useful. My Lady hates it because she can't use it if she has finger nails of any size.

I mentioned on my first post about any chance on working for a driver side handle for the 5th gen 4runners. Any chance for that?

I am sorry, I am not happy with the OEM style grab bar on the passenger's side and will be waiting for your full grip version. Also, I am hoping the part shown in the video is not an actual retail piece as it does not match the OEM part you removed in texture and color. Seemed a bit too shiny and black. However, I agree with what has been said, installation looks pretty simple. Thanks for the update!

I would also wait for a full grip version. The OEM grab slot just doesn't cut it. As far as appearance is concerned, I would expect the materal used, style, and appearance to match OEM quality.

I would also want to know for sure that it did not interfere with the deployment of the side curtain airbags.

I'll gladly purchase the full handle version for both driver and passenger side.
The factory style that you have to pinch with your fingertips is just an accident waiting to happen IMO.

Update on Carlimeki A-Pillar Grab Handles – Thank You for All the Feedback!


Hi everyone,


First off, thank you all for the overwhelming support and valuable feedback on our upcoming A-pillar grab handles for the 4th Gen Tacoma!


Here’s a quick update on our progress:
Our first release will be the driver-side A-pillar grab handle, designed to match the OEM-style passenger side handle with the finger slot design. We’ve created a 1:1 mold based on the original, and the texture and appearance will be identical to the factory passenger-side handle.


We’ve also heard your requests loud and clear for a full-grip version similar to what’s found on the 3rd Gen Tacoma. Our team is currently working on this version—we’ve 3D printed a prototype but have not yet moved into tooling. This version is still in early development and may take some time to bring to market.


In the meantime, you can expect the finger-slot version (driver side) to be available within the next 1–2 months.

I have these passenger side OE but what we found to be the issue is the spring loaded handle. We need someone to produce a handle that stays down and mounts to this location probably 3 to 4" drop.

Make it a fixed handle matching OEM style where you can get your fingers through the slot for both sides.

It looks like things are advancing in your factory-style non-through grip. Unfortunately, I am not interested in this style in the least. Maybe some will buy it so they can upgrade just the one side. But for me, it needs to be a full open grip, and then I'll buy the pair - happily, provided the OEM fit and finish is preserved.

I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for the full grip version. Keep up the great innovation and work.
