In the gauge cluster, after I have chisen the tire pressure to be a permanent display, what I noticed was it tends to give way to trip meter. I don’t care to see my Tfip B or whatever, would rather always see tire pressure handy. How come it tends to disappear?

A known problem, that is not likely to ever get fixed.
Yeah, unless a programmer changes the bad code while working on something higher in priority it's not likely to get fixed. Look at the problem with the fuel gauge "sticking". That, as I understand it, happens on the Tundra as well.
Here's how I deal with it.

1. One time only. Do this while in Park.
Disable all of the options for that display area except TPMS and one other (Trip A for example). Hold the "Ok" button until the display goes into setup mode. Press the right arrow twice. Use the up/down arrows and the OK button to uncheck or check options. Then hit the return button until back in normal operation mode.

2. When you notice that TPMS is not displayed. Hold down the OK button for a few seconds, hit right arrow, down arrow, and return button. I don't even look any more.

I was just complaining about this to my wife yesterday while we were on a drive. Thought I was doing something wrong.

It’s goddamn annoying - if there is one thing I need on all the time it’s tire pressure and I shouldn’t have to keep clicking around when I’m trying to drive

Been dealing with this with my truck all ownership. Especially annoying when these stupid thin walled tires get a single leak.

By trial and error, I've found it always rolls over to the 'previous' screen gauge (one up). Even if you set that side to allow nothing but TPMS, it'll roll over to 'blank'.

As much as it's frustrating and shouldn't be necessary, I've gotten in the habit each time where I didn't even have to think about it:

Long press settings, click over to the gauge, flick down once, back arrow x2, done.

Mine always worked properly when I had it set to display double main gauges. When I changed to a single main gauge, it would disappear after shutting the truck off. I put it back to double main gauges and viola, it’s back to working correctly again. Try it out and see if it works for you.

I think I’ve always had double gauges - rpm and mph

Idk what to tell you but I can switch between single and double gauges and it malfunctions on single and works correctly on double. We can go one more step if it matters, I have the meter style set to to “smart”
I just went outside and started it and made a video to show that it stays there after being shut off.
