Shared the driving from Ventura to Flagstaff today, 508 miles.

Looks like I botched my recent mod so will need to fix it. May have to hit up @SPV Parts to help me figure out the error. Voltage from taillight on driver side could be too low.

The backup light function works but brake light function is off on driver. Took some pics as wife expertly backed the truck into our camp spot.

Added a pic from one of our gas stops. Temps ranged from 64° to 101° on our drive across the mountain ranges. We used Tow Haul mode as usual, and temps for engine oil, trans, and rad all stayed at the middle except if we exceeded 73 mph on a climb over 95°, oil got hotter than middle, so I backed down to 70 mph or less and the meter dropped to its happy place.

Thank goodness it’s 53° at our camp spot - really dig Flagstaff. Time for nightcaps and a spy flick.

well duh to me lol none of the ones at my dealership had those on the tacos on the lot when I was purchasing. Explains why I didnt recognize them.

Installed a tailgate liner and destickered the bed side. Next will be removing the 4x4 and Tacoma badges on the doors. Anyone done those yet? Just wanna triple check that they are just adhesive on and there are no holes underneath.

Just got home from 2 weeks of roaming around Montana and Wyoming! Unfortunately my new canopy leaks a bit where it sits on the bed rail, but it wasn't a show-stopper, thankfully.

I love this truck so much!

On the way back from Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, we cut our 500-mile return trip roughly in half by camping at Joshua Tree National Park. We stayed at a campground in the Yucca Valley area. Hardly any other campers on a Monday.
Weather was perfect from high 40s to low 60s (F), gentle breeze. Lots of wildlife and stars, beautiful sunset, night sky, and sunrise.
Birds drinking from the dog bowl are California Thrashers.
Our small fire is from a Tripod Torch that wife bought at the Expo.

Today I had a chance to finally get to a mod that has been sitting around my home for several days. I had to review a couple of youtube videos to make sure that I did it right. Just kidding! I timed it taking me just under a minute to install. I will include a link below to where I found it since it was a lot more difficult to find than the one on my 3rd gen truck.

In a few weeks our nation will be celebrating its 250th anniversary. We have to get to Memorial Day tomorrow first. It is important to understand the true meaning of Memorial Day. After flying in the Navy for 20 years and having 15 mayday emergencies, engine fires, cabin fires, etc, etc I still came back alive. It is not about those of us who made it back alive. It is about those who made the ultimate sacrifice who did not return alive. It is about those who will never again be able to experience their dreams and aspirations. It is about those who will never again be able to laugh and cry in life. It is about those who will never again be able to hold their loved ones. They are the true heroes. Greater love has no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

installed some @LASFIT floor liners in the 4th gen a few days ago.. Worth every penny. coverage is great, fitment is perfect, quality top notch.. i couldn't be happier with them.

Made a couple changes to the interior and very happy w/ both:

• OEM molle panel for the rear storage area (xtracab)
• Teton knob caps (much nicer than the “fake machine screws” IMO)
