What is this striation pattern/zebra streak on my glass?

First, these are not the conventional streaks due to poor glass cleaning practice. I am able to clean my glasses without issues and it's not that hard, the glass does its job which is letting me see through without water spots, dirt or other cleaning fluid residues. What I am observing here is an almost "baked-in" pattern that's only visible when I wipe my glass. Wiping with wet towel, be it water, soap water, glass cleaning spray, windex, chemical guys stuff, doesn't matter, whenever the glass is wet and a wiping motion has been applied to it, these vertical lines shows up. As soon as the fluid dries, they disappear (and the glass is done cleaned). So, are these some kind of coating from the factory? they are on both front and rear glasses.

Strange. Maybe some kind of environmental fallout/acid rain? The only things I found on my front and rear glass were the suction cup marks where it was handled at the assembly plant. But they have faded away with cleaning.

Thanks. I used the Clorox/CVS alcohol wipe, still there, used autozone aeosol ammonia free glass cleaner, still there. it's like permanently altered the chemistry of the glass. maybe it's meant to be there? UV filter?

Definitely not supposed to be there. That's not to say it's hurting things by being there though.

I had that on my last car. Thought it was just from wax bonding to the glass ? Never thought much of it. Could try glass polish.​

You could try #0000 steel wool too … can pick that up today at Walmart/Home Depot. It is safe on glass, just use a little lubricant when applying (I glass cleaner).

You should give it another shot. RainX works fantastic. The key is how you apply it.

-Clean the window with a good glass cleaner.
-Wipe on RainX, let it haze and then apply another coat or two.
-Here's the key. Let the RainX haze again and then hose the glass off w/water and wipe it dry with a chamois. The haze will disappear and you'll have perfectly clear glass that sheds water like crazy.

If you let it sit too long without spraying the glass and wiping it down, that's when you get that permanent haze.

I had somewhat of the same issue. My sprinkler system sometimes sprays on my truck glass. I got the streaks off by using polishing compound with a buffing pad on a electric drill. You may have to go over a few times.

Never heard of that before. I've been using Rain-X since it was invented decades ago and never had a problem with it. Works great. Back in the 1980s I had to travel from AZ to MS. A storm followed me the whole way. Heavy rain. Everyone I saw had their wipers going on high and sticking their heads forward to try to see out the perpetually streaking windshield. I literally did not need my wipers except when a semi passed and sent that light dirty spray on my windshield. The trick with Rain-X is to apply it then wipe a wet paper towel or cloth over it and then immediately dry with a cloth or paper towels.

The factory glass is dyed. It's colored glass.

There are patterns called "quench marks" which can appear in auto glass. These are patterns in tempered panes that will be present from new. But the shapes are mechanical in appearance, like a cookie cutter. Yours, they look like something involving a liquid, possibly foam.

"...both front and rear glasses." The front and rear side windows? Are the windshield and back glass affected?

Your truck is listed as a 2024. How long have you had this issue?

When the truck was purchased, were there any dealer add-ons involving the glass? Any treatments?

Have the windows been tinted?

What do you use to clean the glass? The liquid cleaning product?

What do you use to typically clean the truck? The soap?

When detailing the truck, what time of day do you often clean it? What's your process? Your tools?

Do you frequent self-serve (coins and wand) or automated car washes?
