I'm using Havoline 6-quart boxes sold at Walmart. The Oil Geek on YouTube believes it's good stuff and I like the fact you can dump 90% in.

I would check out the Femco drain plug . I think they are much better. I have it on my jeep and it works great with no mess. The plug has a normally closed valve that opens when you screw on the drain hose. I emailed them and this is what they said I would need see note below. They respond back and will answer any of your questions. Attached is what I use on my JL

The Toyota Tacoma would take any of our plugs with an M12x1.25-T9 thread pitch. Residual oil is not an issue when utilizing a Femco drain plug. We recommend draining the oil at engine temperature to fully flush out all waste particulates. This is easier as Femco’s system prevents burns.

THIS looks great. I'm about to order one. Thinking I'll opt for the large bore variation. What I'm having trouble deciding between are the hose options. Just eyeballing it under my truck, it's hard to tell what will give enough clearance to get around or through my RCI skid plate. Is the hose very flexible? Which one have you (or others) used and have you been pleased?

For context, I'll probably go ahead and have the dealership change my oil a few more times under toyotacare, I'm trying to make it idiot proof so they do not fill my skid plate with oil again this time (what a mess!), and make it easier for myself in the future. The goal is to not have to remove my skid plates (a. because I don't have a garage to work in, b. because I'm lazy, and c. because the dealership is known to over-torque those bolts).

I have the 45 degree one. Have now install it yet , next oil change. This seems to be the best fit for the RCI skid I have.

For those of you running the Fumoto (or the Femco for that matter), did you use a fresh blue crush washer when installing it? I’ve replaced this each time when reinstalling drain plug on previous oil changes.

Or does the Fumoto/Femco product come with its own washer/gasket making the blue crush washer irrelevant?

Looking to install one of these two options next time I change the oil, thanks in advance
