I would completely rewrite the Toyota Infotainment system software to have Carplay mute the music when reading a text like it does in every other vehicle and I would add more customization options to the audio system for tuning speakers, levels, ect. I would also allow a user to remove the input options they do not use such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, maybe even AM radio, so you didn't have to hit the mode button so many times to change inputs.

Push button to reset trip meter and cycle through odometer modes.
Larger gas tank.
Lose the Sport hood scoop.
Hood lift struts.
I should have went with the 6 foot bed.
Agree on all accounts. I like the look of the hood scoop but don’t like fake scoops that do nothing. 6’ bed is only way I’d buy my truck!

Oh and the exhaust sits way too low. Ended up getting the SXTH Element exhaust dump.

Larger gas tank. Soft touch materials on the dash and doors as standard(get rid of that hard plastic), with higher quality materials like leather on higher trims. Crew cab option to add a little extra rear seat space with a 5ft box as only bed option(with overall wheelbase being somewhere just under the current long bed to account for the extra cab space). Remove the fake front vent pieces and streamline bumper design. LED projector headlamps that match the 4Runners on higher trims but with sequential turn signals.

Remove that lump on the left side of the front center console that my right knee keeps hitting. Should be more room there for the driver. Left grab handle. Why have one on the right side where someone MAY sit and not on the left side where someone will ALWAYS sit. Of course the larger gas tank. Less nanny systems. Pay Stellantis for the excellent gauge and readout systems they use (gas, DTE, MPH, Speed, etc) so we have accurate information and when we top off just a couple gallons of gas it actually recognizes that fact. Pay Stellantis for the name of their supplier of soft touch interiors. Better range of movement for the "tilt" steering. Forget that. How about REAL tilt steering where the steering wheel alone actually tilts by means of a simple one finger activated lever on the side of the column that releases the spring loaded to the up position steering wheel like cars used to have rather than this ridiculous search under the column for a stiff lever to crank down, have the entire steering column fall on your knees then lift the whole thing up. That's not a tilt wheel. That's a drop the column system and I have always hated them. A huge cheap step backwards in auto comfort.

COLOR option -Dark GREEN !!

Ill keep my truck forever. I don't have any plans to ever trade it in. Unless Toyota comes out with a Dark Green. I like the bronze, but I settled for it. I waited years for a decent green but finally just caved and settled for Bronze. The GR86 has an optional green I would have bought instantly. If Toyota allowed actual ordering of vehicles I'd have been willing to pay extra and waited longer for it.

Top 3, Memory seats, Rain sense wipers, and folding side mirrors. Bonus round, more vibrant paint colors. Battery taps under the hood for winch hook up on hybrid models would also be nice.

I would fix the range the keyfob reaches the truck. Mine doesn't work unless i'm within a truck's length from the truck

More access-cab models to get that 6-foot bed back. I would love to have a TRD-Sport with just access-cab. Heck my old X-Runner was an access-cab truck with 6-foot bed.

Somewhat larger fuel tank would help likewise. I prefer range over mpg any day. I have a hybrid Camry for mpg, trucks are made for range while carrying loads.

By the way, it's a truck so we should not expect Lexus type improvements. That drives up the price even more and makes it more car-like than being a truck.

I agree with you about the push button trip meter. I have had my 2026 for 5 days now and filled it up for the first time yesterday. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to reset the trip meter so I could track my miles per tank.

Edit: I went through the car wash today and FINALLY noticed the speaker icon on the main display near the top. One press silenced all alarms! I have to wonder if the update I got at the dealer last week added that. I suspect it was there all along though.
