so after having the software update (which, BTW, wipes all the changes you have made) the PDA started turning itself on and also turning on the Adaptive CC.. Even canceling the CC and it would turn itself back on.. Took to dealer and at first they said that it was just the PDA being on and they turned it off.. I told them that I had gone into settings and turned it off and several other things related and it had turned itself on.. They said ok and kept it.. Just talked to technician and they same thing happened to him twice but didnt happen to one of the other technicians.. They have opened a case with Toyota.. I think that there is a bug in the software update causing this since this has never happened in 26K of driving before the update..
Wondering if anyone else has gotten the software update and having problems with the truck turning things on by itself..

Will keep you guys up dated..

How do you update the software? Is it done at the dealer or via wifi? Lol trucks in 2026 I guess.

Been holding off on both the brake line and display cluster recalls. This is exactly why.

I had my display cluster software updated last month and I have not had any issues. They literally take a laptop and plug it into the OBD reader. They also connect a power generator to the battery to prevent power loss. The whole process runs about an hour and 45 minutes for the upload.

My 2024 almost approaching 20,000 miles and no issues with the software. I still have to take care of the Brake line recall.

Sigh, some of y'all's reading comprehension is non existent.

I don't have issues with my screen either and I am in the recall group.

What OP is saying is that he had the recall fix done, and is now seeing problems where the settings that he set are randomly clearing.

Much like the TPMS issue, except in this case the PDA.

This sounds serious, I had the update performed about a month ago. I've since took a 900ish mile trip and I'm glad to say I haven't had any issues. Also, none of my settings where wiped. I never had issues with it before either so who knows 🤷🏽‍♂️. Hope they can figure out what going on with yours.

There will always be issues with software updates like this. With windows, android, or any other operating system you can do a soft launch (thousands of devices) to select existing devices and wait for the fallout. Then make adjustments before rolling it out to more devices and so on. Some programs like video games offer early access to updates, or have dedicated beta testers post launch.

Car manufacturers don't typically have that. Tesla and a few EV companies do due to certain features. But the big 4 and their subsidiaries typically do all their testing before launching a new model and don't have a plan to implement changes after the fact. They only have their very small group of mules to do all their testing.

Which is why it's typically recommended to never buy the first year of any new model. That also should include any recalls and software updates. Unless it is a "life saving" change.

that’s interesting since I talked to the tech and he said that the settings would be wiped (he didnt know it at the time).. Interesting that it didnt wipe yours.. Starting to loose my confidence in the dealer and actually telling it like it is..

I would not have done the update if it were not for the fact that it “corrected” the entire screen going blank.. You would have no info. It shouldnt take long for a good software engineer to figure out the code problem.. If they have one!?

I don't have any issues either and I don't plan on letting the dealer break it by installing a half baked update. If it ain't broke, don't fix it is my motto.
