Well, at least you got that. This has been going on for a long time and you would think Toyota would have both replacement parts and some idea of what was going on by now. Good luck!
They need 2 parts to fix this, one of them is won't be available til mid Feb and the other one is unknown ETA. Does this qualify for lemon law at this point since the car is in shop for 30 days?

In most states you qualify to lemon law your vehicle if three attempts to repair it fail or if it is out of service for 30 or more days. So yeah, I would say yes - your truck probably qualifies.

I was on a road trip and started my car after filling gas. The check engine, grille shutter, drive start control, and system malfunction lights alerts went off. I check my grille shutters and they were open. I ended up driving the car home with no issues or limp mode. The only thing that didn't work was the cruise control and active lane assist.

Supreme Toyota in Hammond told me there were similar issues with the 2022 tundra when it came out and they think they know the fix. They placed me in a new loaner car and have been fantastic so far.

I've had no issues prior to this and am loving the truck. Hope there is a fix soon.

Mine just did the same thing.. 3700 miles. Was on road trip of 400 miles coming home.. Stop 10 miles shy of home and filled up and when started up got the same thing.. Supposedly later production model, built mid Sept or so.. Frustrating..

havent called dealer becuase it is weekend.. and you cant scroll though the gages to check engine temp or oil temp..

To those who ran into this issue and had it fixed -- how's your experience with the truck so far? I'm wondering if this is a one off or the start of a constant trip to the repair shop.

I had mine replaced a couple months ago at my local dealership. I hadn’t had any issues with the original one other than I received a notification telling me to take it to the dealership and have it inspected. They did so and found corrosion due to moisture getting in the connection they replaced it with the new assembly and wiring harness and I haven’t had any trouble. Luckily I didn’t have any trouble with the original one from the factory but against the replaced it out of precaution.

Does every model have the grill shutter? Would be nice to use cardboard in the winter just like was done 40-60 years back

I'm missing a few shutter doors due to my light setup, truck doesn't seem to care. I'm sure you could do without it but it might make it warm up slower..

I installed an aftermarket TRD Pro grille and foglights in my SR yesterday, simply removed the grille shutter and reinstalled it - no water involved at all - and am now getting the same failures. I have an early build 24 so this tracks with the defective modules.

Did you disconnect the battery?

Had same issue after replacing grill. Found out one of the connectors wasnt fully seated. Pushed it in and it has worked ever since

At the time of the install I did not, but I have since to attempt a "reset" and it does not have any effect.

I disconnected mine and cleaned it with QD electronics cleaner, still no joy. Have a dealer appt Friday now.

I've seen issues like this if you don't disconnect the battery beforehand. Something about not disconnecting the battery but unplugging the sensors makes it go haywire.

Yeah, of course the one time I forget to do it!
