Thanks for the post, I added the Sport Bar to my Taco cause I like the look, then after getting it as I was installing it I thought "how can I get a tonneau cover on it now" LOL I was thinking of doing the same thing you just did but I like the flush roof/Sport Bar look. :headbang:

Great thread. I considered keeping my ARB rack but took it off. I have the same tonneau cover as yours. Great combination on your part.

I looked at that as an option too, but it looks like the Diamondback flips up? If that’s the case, you could cut the mounting tabs off the sport bars and bolt them to the top of the cover. The limitation would be that the front section of the cover would only open 60% ish.

I’m going to look into that .. I wouldn’t mind .. it bugs me I can’t use the sport bar

Big props to you for cracking the code on this one! I live in the PNW and for me, the rain makes the truck bed unusable w/o cover 5 months out of the year - but I've agonized over removing the sport bar.

I've completed the cuts on the bar and getting ready to drill the holes for attaching via the T-slot bolts. Did you retain/reuse the foam that came with the ARB Sport Bar? Also, did you run into any challenges with rattling or vibration having changed the way the bar is anchored? Any tips there?

Thank you so much!

I didn’t reuse the foam padding. I bolted it directly to the T rails and it doesn’t rattle at all. It’s really solid on there. I did buy some 1” marine foam to add to the bottom where it hangs over the edge of the rails (just to fill the gap), but never used it since it doesn’t really look bad the way it is.
