Factory Lift Kit for 4th gen Tacoma are discontinued?

Can someone please educate me on the difference between the Red Piggyback Bilstein's that come on the Offroad Tacoma's vs the silver TRD shocks that come in the TRD lift kit now being offered?

Typically the Off Road shocks with the remote reservoirs are better suited for continuous more strenuous off roading due to better heat dissipation and being valved more towards off roading conditions. The Bilstein shocks in the lift kit will ride firmer and be more planted on road but are still usable off road, they just won’t perform at the same level. For most people this isn’t an issue. For those that are doing serious off roading and want a suspension upgrade more suited to their needs, picking something more like the Kings suspension set up, OME, Icon etc would be a better choice.

I also am leaning towards it more after all the helpful information here. My main concern right now is the possibility of the shocks in the kit being a downgrade from the stock Offroad shocks.

I would highly doubt they would be a downgrade.

I think even in this thread there is some conflicting information on it. Just would suck to spend that only to have lower grade shocks.

I wouldn't call it a downgrade necessarily. It is a different type of shock for a different type of application. Different dampening profile and different intended application. The TRD Off Road shocks are designed with off-roading in mind, so for example, the remote reservoirs will handle high speed "whoops" better over a longer period due to having better heat dissipation. The Lift kit will still be completely usable off road, they just no longer have the remote reservoir which means they are more susceptible to fade from constant cycling. For like 99% of people, this is a non issue. You would have to REALLY push the shocks to experience fade. And if you do the level of off-roading through high speed "whoops" where you are cycling those shocks to cause fade, you are better off buying a suspension kit from King, Icon, OME, Fox etc that have remote reservoirs and nice large 2.5"(or bigger) shock bodies that are built with a focus on off-roading.

I don't know if it does or not. From some of the photos of the actual kit people have bought, it doesn't appear to have axles in it. Would also explain why it is soo much cheaper than the Tundra kit.

Check this out. For certain trim levels only.

My current TRD Offroad has the same part numbers on the CVV axles as the one that come in the lift kit. I verified this by crawling under my truck and crawling under one at the dealer with the Factory lift. The Bill of Material that someone posted in the Rob motive Facebook group also verifies that the TRD Offroad trim use the same axles. This is why they are not included in the kit.

I too have an off-road. To completely understand this correctly. If you have an off-road with the kit installed from the factory, it already would have the upgraded axles? A sport or SR5 would have new axles installed like the ones that come on an off-road??

I just want to clarify please. If you currently have an Off-road without the factory lift, you will not need CV axles (Drive Shafts) because they are long enough. They are the same exact axles if you order your truck with the lift installed at the factory.
I proved this to myself by crawling under an Off-Road truck with and without the lift. Same tags and part numbers are on them. You can see by the attached images here that the only trucks that will need the CV axles (Drive Shafts) in the new lift kit are SR-5's & (1) Sport trim model. (35310 thru 35340). Folks with Off-Roads models and some Sport models will not need new CV axles
(35350 thru 35380). This is why they are not in the new kit.

Oh nice an actual parts breakdown. Been wanting to see one of these. I kind of figured it would at least come with new tie rods and the lower knuckles to adjust the control arm angle.
