The goal is a 400mi tank on a stock Trailhunter. Got a Go Fast Camper + a Martin Off Road Roof Rack w/ a big ass spoiler. Currently getting 18.5mpg @ 7,300 mi. Nix the OE sport bar and the rear recovery points (swapping for SixthElement aluminum), added constant is ~350lbs with the kit.

Notes: Minimal cutting on the chin spoiler itself, had to get some aluminum angle brackets and utilize a few OE mount locations. The most time spent on this was shaping additive spoiler near the high mount cutout bumper. Did that with a type of urethane foam (DivinyCell), carbon fiber & resin, bonded them to most outer edges of the dam wings, EVA 1/16” stand-off cushion against the bumper). With the airdam clearance is 11” H w/stock Goodyear Wranglers. The mounting points do not interfere with skid plate mounts at all. All said & done 6 bolts, disconnects in ~5min when I want to get more into crawling on trail.

Just finished it yesterday and will drive it ~1k and then look at the numbers. Expecting ~20mpg+ highway at minimum driving speed limit adaptive cruise etc. If it underwhelms I spent $15 for the airdam on Fb market place & an afternoon modifying with random extra materials in my garage.

for the gerrys who want to shoot shit down & correct & be a doosh & say it looks weird & whatever else causes you chaffing & harm in life: no one cares betches 😘

I personally think it has gen 4 XRunner vibes and that might be the coolest taco yet, albeit a concept. To each his own 🍻

The look isn't bad at all. Curious to see your results. It would be great if it somehow the air dam could use a quick-release system for when the truck goes off-road.

It looks good, that's good clearance. I left the air dam(8" clearance) on my stock SR5 as I'm averaging 25.8 mpg since I started tracking with Fuelly in June. Got 28 mpg the last two trips.

Probably will take it off at the end of November to avoid hitting snow banks, back on in March.

I just took that "dam" thing off. It looks like "dam".

Okay, enough with these dam jokes. I don't have enough dam time to continue.

Proceed..................:sunglasses:

So the idea is to change the angle of the air dam to angle it moreso to the ground as well as to deflect wind from the tires?

The Trailhunter and Pro has more of a high clearance bumper that the other trucks. The fill in areas that the OP added are fill in this area.

Props to OP, I'm curious to see how the experiment turns out. (y)

Wrong. fairing on the Martin OR rack literally brought it from 15mpg to 18.5mpg. Aero & rolling resistance.

Drove up to the high country today, ~40 mi trip, 17mpg up / 28 down. Just about at sticker print for the combined now. The airdam and the roof spoiler do work. Distance factor needs to be logged to really get a solid number tho.

Gonna toss up some pics once I have ~1k mi and a solid trip out to Moab in strong headwinds.

gonna drive the 33 wranglers until hit the wear indicators, then likely staying with a 33 but something like a Nokian Outpost or a Michelin 3 peak,. For the first few years no major rock crawling, swapping the OE Rock Rails for PRO’s composite rocker protectors, get me back closer to original dry weight of the TH…

Look i respect what youre doing, but i gotta say, i would rather have 5mpg than have that airdam look on my truck
you do you bud. I’ve now spent more time on tac4g on this thread than modding the plastic itself. 400mi+ tank is the goal, not what people think about how it looks. If I get there, money for more trips. If I don’t get there, who cares. Unbolts in 5 mins.

That said, there’s some sick looking rides that rock a double chin.
