Just got my Starlink mini delivered today! Very impressed so far, getting hundreds of mbps download speeds regularly in remote beach spots with zero cell coverage.

I’m currently mounting this in my bed by jamming it into my tonneau cover and powering it from the bed plug. Works well even under the cover with good reception in the cabin. I probably want a more permanent solution eventually but I love that I can mount it under the tonneau cover semi permanently out of sight and out of mind. I know alot of guys are either putting this on the dash or in the sunroof.

How are you mounting yours?

Mine is mounted on top of my Lone Peak camper so I had to design a bracket that would swivel. When I'm driving it sits flat and when I pop the camper up the bracket tilts up to keep the mini flat. Works great!

I didn't want mine mounted permanently (yet) so I just use the Starlink bar mount. Eventually I'll fab something up to make the SL flush with the roof rack but I haven't gotten that far yet. How are you all routing your cables inside, through the door or some other way? (post pics)

I use this mount from Savageutv, and can recommend it. I use the magnetic mount directly on the roof and run power through the rear sliding window and the 120v outlet in the back seat.

I do plan to wire it to a Garmin power switch I recently installed.

My biggest gripe is that the truck doesn't allow for a Wi-Fi connection, and your phone can't be connected to both Starlink and the truck at the same time.
I have an AI box, which is a workaround to this, but it would be nice if my phone and carplay would work while on starlink.

Once you sign up, you can drop down to the $10/mo 10gig plan.
I believe that deal is no longer available, at least it wasn't an option for me. What you can do now is effectively pause the subscription and just pay $5/mo for "emergency" type service. I've done that and you still have (unlimited data) ~1mb download speeds, which is just fine for email and whatnot and is all I care about when I'm camping in the back country. IMHO it's the perfect plan. I have read that Starlink will eventually force you to upgrade but you can always go back to the $50 plan and then immediately downgrade again the next month.

$50 a month? Can you turn the subscription off? And it allows you to roam about?
Yes. I use mine during the summer camping season, and turn it off during the winter when I won't be using it. The $50/mo includes 50gb of data, and each additional gb is $1. Unlimited data is $165/mo.

I didn't realize, and I see confirmation of it on the starlink website.
Glad I got in while I did, and fingers crossed they maintain that level for those already in it.
