I love my SR5. Best vehicle I have ever owned, but the pro has been on my mind for a couple weeks. I found one in the color I want a state away that's been on the lot 111 days for $62K. I can sell my topper for $7,500 (a little tight with wife and kid) and I can sell my truck for at least what I bought it for since I got a good deal, minus a few upgrades I won't remove (grille, bilsteins, lightbar?) and keep my wheels/tires by swapping out with some TRD OR take offs before selling to the local dealer.

Feelin' like a silly goose running on the hedonic treadmill over here, but the pro got it's hooks in me!

I do love my truck though if someone more reasonable has something smart to say 😂

You realize you're on a forum full of people who bought frankly completely unnecessary trucks (except the sr and sr5 owners). Like 90% of the population drive trucks when cars are much more practical and cheaper. Of those of us that bought these trucks in particular because this particular poor financial decision has great aftermarket support to continue the revolving door of more poor financial decisions. Of those include the "halo" trims which are the peak of that exact decision where the trucks are specifically designed for a lifestyle that barely anyone actually pursues. Your asking us? That particular group of people to talk you out of it?

Nah bro totally do it. I really can't help you here I've been crunching numbers trying to figure out how to get my hands on that new honey flavored pro next year.

Just do it! Your wife can start door dashing and your kids can pick up cans and bottles along the highway. It'd only be for a couple years while you're motoring to coffee in style. :like::crackup:

I'm the voice of reason here. I keep vehicles for a long time (still have my 2006 WRX Wagon that I got in 06) and will likely hold on to my TRD OR for many years. What is it about the Pro that you like much better than the SR5? The SR5 can make pro power easily and you don't have to spend another $20-$25k to do it. If it's the interior, seat covers are nice and also affordable. If it's the hybrid you want, then there's no replacement for that. The blue with those aluminum wheels looks amazing. If you're already willing to sell the camper, do that, and get yourself some upgrades and still have money left over.

You’re not going to gain much by swapping trucks. Definitely less rear leg space and underseat storage. The raised rear seat might be ok depending on how old your kids are but the rear leg space is going to make it really uncomfortable for your kids on any long trips.

I'll be honest here guys... I really don't have a good reason... I just found a "decent" deal when I was messing around one night on the internet and won't lose my ass on my current truck. And, the real kicker ? I just really want the color that I said I hated so much when it dropped 😂 I just can't stop thinking about it. Just so cool. So fast. So cool. So expensive, but sooooo cool ... 🤣

This is valid. One is off to college. My thought on the other one is: I had to ride in the back of an extra cab with a lap belt and no a/c. I'm not buying a 4runner for you so you can watch YouTube in more comfort with your organic snacks 😂

I think the truck you have is pretty sweet, but I do understand going for the cool color (that Wave Maker is pretty freakin' awesome in person). As long as your wife won't kill you and you don't go upside down on the deal, I say do it! Life's too short.

Normally I would say if you like your current truck and it fits your needs, why would you want to trade it? But, if you can essentially break even (like you said you could), just get the truck you want. I personally love Wave Maker and have thought about wrapping a truck to get it on a non-pro.

Yea. No good reason other than that I'm a good consumer lol and it's not 100% break even with some of the mods I can't remove and doc fees, probably loose a couple grand total and go from owing $12K after the camper sale to $38K with a new Pro initially, but all things considered, it's not unreasonable or completely stupid to me. Financially responsible ? Absolutely not lol but in the world of cars/trucks the numbers aren't bad. And no dealer in my state will go below $70 for that rig in that color. Even if I show them some other pricing they're basically like "Cool. Go get it then."

Still a lot of money though!
