I’m actually at one year today! Just got the email from Toyota about my connected services are ending!

Coming from several Tacomas before this one. I’ve owned every gen and a couple of each gen. This one is WAY above all previous gen’s! I love everything about it, the only gripe I’d have is the pitiful legroom in the back seat area. Another small complaint is the lack of actual grab handles on the A pillars.

Had mine for almost 2 years, just rolled over 30K miles. I've been very happy with it. Nothing about the vehicle that I hate, although I do wish the interior plastics were nicer, although it's not something that I think about much these days. That's really my only true complaint.

First truck coming from a totaled v6 coupe. I really like this truck and I’m continuing to mod it. It’s my daily driver and I take pride in keeping it nice and clean.
But

I don’t like the rattling interior dash plastic. The plastics in general are very prone to scratching.
My coupe had all soft touch materials/leather and was half the price when I bought it new.
HVAC chirp. Gotta get the TSB done
Subscription services. I’m still gonna pay it though.
The wireless charger is under powered.
Small gas tank.
No driver side grab handle included, so I added my own.

But overall I really like my truck.

I own the SR Xtra Cab 4x4 and I hate the reduced HP in one vehicle and the leaf springs. Only hate the leaf springs because it’s two years and no up grades or replacements. Some sites say they are the same as Gen 3 most do not. And there is some differences in the way the body is attached around the front fenders on this one truck.

A year and two weeks now. This is my first time Toyota. Love the ride, the seats the looks and the community.
Dislikes the fuel range, nav system the interior rattles, leg room in the back for passengers and so far I’m lacking in confidence of reliability.
I’m leaving on a good long road trip so I’ll see how things go with it.

Same stuff:
Little leg room in back, small gas tank, no grab handles.
Also annoyed with a cloth skid plate and how the entire bumper and shutter assembly need removal to swap the anemic oem fog lights... Our 5G4R is so easy by comparison.
Yet, the good still outweighs the bad, truck was amazing this ski season with winter wheel/tires and has been a pleasure to drive from comfort to audio and the turbo 4 is better than I expected so far.

1. Gas tank size
2. Wiper noise
3. Driver side window screech
4. The fact that my GF's Subaru has a meaner engine/exhaust sound

Honestly, hate is too strong a word - these things annoy me, but I love this truck. Daily drives way nicer than any vehicle I've ever had, and handles off road with zero complaints.

I have a TRD Sport 2024 with 12k miles. I hate the small gas tank, minimal back seat space, and the large hood scoop that takes away my view the most. A few minor gripes are the rattling speakers under base and loud engine. Overall I love driving the truck better than the 4runner I came out of but may end up replacing it with a new gen 4runner. I just don’t use the truck bed for hauling and when I’m actually carrying stuff I prefer the back of a 4runner more.

Greetings!

A little over a year of having my '24, and 11,000 miles on it. Chief gripe is the tiny gas tank, second on the list would be rear seat legroom (affects grocery hauling), third is the "pay to play" for services, fourth is the throttle pedal lag unless in Sport mode, fifth is that the "storage cubby" is gone behind the left rear seat that could hold a jug of washer fluid in my 3rd gen that got totaled out from under me. (that last sentence needs to be drug out back and shot, but you get the meaning)

Small gas tank (my 2008 4Runner had bigger gas tank and better MPG). Tiny back seat ( grandkids will fit, but for how long). Subscriptions services. No Trans Cooler (we tow a 3500# overland trailer, have learned how to mitigate heat with shifting and 4 WD Lo, but shouldnt have to). Electronics seem not well thought put (the radar sensor in front throwing codes when you have snow and ice, stupid and distracting during a time when snow and ice while drive is distracting). Lack of commuincation between dealers and company/ technical engineers. Cant find a straight answer about adding the tow camera to my TH, which I really need for trailer but have gone an alternative route. Almost 1.5 years and 27K miles on my TH.. 3 big trips towing trailer (5K miles minimum each trip).

2025 Tacoma Limited Hybrid
Bought mine 3/2025 and no major complaints. Just under 6K miles. Just a couple of minor issues like-

Infotainment not hanging up all the time when I make calls. I have to then disconnect the blue tooth and reconnect

Battery died in less than 1 year (replaced under warranty) and now I am paranoid its going to just die again on me and had to buy a battery jump starter that I now keep in the truck just in case

Subscription service for the maps. Why should I have to depend on my phone and android auto to get the maps? Another money grab for a monthly charge. All my other vehicles (Acura, Porsche, 2019 Tacoma) when the "free trial services" ended I still had my maps available and didnt require a subscription to access the maps

Back seat leg room is a joke. I had more room in my 2019 Tacoma Extended cab in the back seat and this is a quad cab. Fortunately I dont use the back seat for passengers.

Too much plastic that feels cheap- Bought the limited and although an upgrade from my 2019 still feels cheap for a "Limited Hybrid" at that price point

Now the good-
Love the power and acceleration with the hybrid
Gas mileage is decent, better than my 2019
Really like the size of the infotainment screen- my old eyes appreciate this
Ability to customize the dash information is nice
Overall styling and technology (except infotainment glitch with not hanging up is annoying, thankfully it only happens occasionally and not every phone call)
Visibility over the hood is good (My 2019 Sport had the hood scoop that was in the way and just a cosmetic add on and useless)

Electrical issues are my biggest fight and gripe right now.

Purchased vehicle used at 17k miles and drove it for about 1 month and put additional 1k miles before I had to get my IP harness replaced for a plethora of warning lights. It was with the dealership for about three weeks. Once I got it back, I had issues with the dash amp shorting out. It is once again with the dealership and they are looking to replace the speakers. Sitting there for a week currently.

Never really got to enjoy the truck
