Wind buffeting

I have 2025 Taco Limited and I'm trying to enjoy driving with a window (s) open now that the scalding heat is gone. I've tried every way to get it to cease; one window down slightly, all the way open, with rear window open, passenger window, etc.

Not sure if I have ever noticed any unusual wind buffeting issues with mine. I usually roll around with all of the windows down.

All 4 windows completely down mitigates buffeting. But any cross wind can still make it seem like it's butteting. And if you have the sliding rear window, open that too.

I use in channel deflectors but I still have to crack the back windows to stop the buffeting. They didn’t wind test this gen or didn’t care.

Why not just roll all the windows down? Zero buffeting on mine.

I usually do roll them down fully. Sometimes it’s raining or dusty and I just want the front windows open and I’ll crack the rears down about an inch and the buffeting stops.

I work 60 hrs a week with windows rolled down in some very dusty conditions.

what I’ve found to be the best combination of reduced dust inflow, noise and ear torture while going down the highway is to have front windows all the way down, and both back windows down maybe 80% - I’d say 3” to 3.5” of rear windows visible. This is the best combo for me.

For my '24 OR, killing the 3-5Hz buffeting from a front window open is a matter of opening the sliding back window some amount.

Its a byproduct of modern aero strategy. They test these things by running hundreds of hours of simulations, making tweaks here and there then regular wind tunnels. Most modern cars in my experience have the effect. My wifes Corolla is way worse than the truck. Another byproduct is that even with the windows down, there's still very little airflow in the cabin.

By comparison, I own several older and some "classic" vehicles that you cannot get that effect at all. For instance my Ramcharger will not do it period. Windows up, 1 down, both down, on partial, rear hatch, none of it. That's due to its aerodynamics. Another fun fact as a result of its "poor" aerodynamics, the windshield does not self clear. During rain because the wind is so diverted by its square nose that even at highway speeds the water will not "push" from the windshield.
