Thinking of installing a pro light bar on my 24 trd or. I quite like using my high beams at night on mountain passes and really like the oncoming traffic detection for automatic high beam on/off. I want to install an aftermarket light bar - either diode, Baja or heretic - but want it to turn off when the truck detects oncoming traffic.

I think that is how the trd pros work from the factory, correct? Does anyone with a pro or TH know if that is true?
Is it possible to wire an aftermarket light bar the same way? Has anyone done this that can provide wiring instructions or a video on YouTube? All the install videos I can find wire it directly to a pre wired aux switch or new dedicated switch.

thank you!

Don't be that guy.

None of the light bars that you listed are SAE compliant/road legal.
I have a 20" Heretic wired to the Aux switch and it drowns out my high beams.

Don't be the asshole that blinds everybody on the road. Wire it to an Aux switch and use it off-road.

On my third gen, I controlled my light bar from my dimmer switch (plus an on/off switch). I wanted to do that –or what your plan is– with my ditch lights on this new truck. I'm fairly electrical, but I couldn't figure it out.

Perhaps there's a solution that I missed.

I wired a Rigid light bar on my tundra that was controlled by the high beam trigger wire.. was great nice and brite but you need to turn them off with oncoming traffic. Even if wired with a dedicated switch you need it off so as no way you are going to blind people.. most good bars are not sae compliant so don’t be one of those guys on the road with them.. if that’s how you want to wire the bar all you need is to find the trigger wire
