I would get an alignment just to be sure you haven't changed the front end with the new wheels and different tires. But on the other hand you might have pushed the envelope just a bit too much and will need thin aftermarket flaps - and there are some good choices out there.
I don’t think I pushed the envelope at all. My tires are barely larger than yours and multiple people on this thread are running my exact tires with the Canadian flaps with no issues including @HCTacoGuy . Now I’m kind of concerned something is wrong.

@TacoFreak - can you take a picture of how close your tire gets to the flap at full lock with the OEM tires? My tires are barely larger than yours. Maybe the added width is what makes it rub?
I will grab a picture of that today.

You really didn't go much beyond stock, which is why I don't understand the problem. Let's see how tight it is on my truck.

I think it’s my alignment but not because it changed from the day I got it from the factory - I think my castor on the driver side has always been too negative as I’ve always noticed that gap is smaller. I can fix it but it’s annoying that there’s this much castor variation that I cannot even put on the OEM Canada flaps! What else could it be? Also, imagine trying to explain that you want slightly more positive castor but that you want to remain in OEM spec to the service center—good luck. Anyway, I think that’s the issue.

I appreciate it.

The closest the tread on my tires ever gets to the flap is just under one inch.

The first pic is full lock, where the outer corner of the tread approaches the inside of the flap, which is the 1" clearance.

The second pic is partial lock, where the tread approaches that thickest part of the flap, which is about 1.5" clearance.

Wow. Our castor specs are an inch apart. Crazy. Must be why some guys can fit 34s and some can only fit 33s without making alignment adjustments. Can’t think of anything else. My tires are larger but not by much.

It is hard to understand why that distance would vary so much, unless the Pro and TH front suspensions are more different than I thought.

I think it’s alignment variance - I don’t think the suspensions are that much different geometrically but I’m not entirely sure. If anyone has any other theories let me know.

would tire width matter that much? I mean both tires have to pass across the same spot - but the outer edge of my tire is further out so it has to sweep across a wider arc… that could be It (my tires are 11.5” wide versus 10.4”). And @HCTacoGuy told me he had his alignment redone after his 2.5” lift. But I’m just speculating.

Hi:
I just put 285/70/17 KO3 tires on my 25 TRD OR. After reading this thread I am still unsure on which size mudflaps I should order. Help please, many thanks!

Speaking of Canadian mudflaps; I bought the wrong size for my Pro. Which means I have an extra set of Canadian mudflaps that fits none halo trims for half the cost.

I’m running 285/70/17 and the Canadian flaps had me rubbing like crazy so I had to pull them off.. they have a big protrusion that hits my tire…. Odd nobody else is having this issue???
I'm on my 3rd pair of flaps... Started with the OEM then the Canadian OEM which were awesome until I upgraded to 285 70 17... The front Canadian flaps will rub on turns especially when turning into a parking lot or driveway... Now I'm on Rokblokz : Definitely more room just trying to figure out why there price is so high...😂... The Rokblokz don't look as good but definitely more protection with bigger tires.. Hopefully my last flaps for this truck!... If people are sticking with stock tire size Canadian flaps work well...

Not sure the size heres the part number... Thought there was only one size... I don't have any pictures before I took them off... Maybe you can zoom and see with 285 tires there is about an inch gap... New setup is rock sliders and rokblokz... I don't like the look of them but definitely wider protection... Rally flaps

Read through the entire thread, no one seems to have spoken to...

How flexible are these flaps?

The pictures suggest they're pretty rigid. When we're way out off the beaten path, perhaps coming down a shelf or going over a large branch/log/whatever, I'm concerned how accommodating these flaps may be. For instance, let's say it's a situation where the rock slider comes into use. What should I expect with these flaps?

Appreciate your thoughts...

I've been following this thread for awhile, and it's interesting to see so much variance in rubbing based on trim/alignment even with the same size tires.

I was curious if anyone had more pictures facing towards the wheel wells to clarify clearances based on tire size and trim/alignment. It seems like my SR has quite a bit of clearance, even with 33’s on. About 3 inches to tire from front and back guards. Does anyone know what the depth width of the Canadian mudguards is into the wheel well?

I've got the SR on 255/80r17s (stock mudguards 76625-AK010, 76626-AK010, 76621-AK010, 76622-AK010)

and it looks like I've got enough clearance to run the Canadian PK389-35R00-P1 (medium width) or PK389-35R50-P1 [may have changed to PK389-35R55-P1] (full width) according to https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/oem-mudflaps-pk389-35r50-p1-vs-pk389-35r00-p1.858176/

I do take the truck off the beaten path enough that the stock mudflaps don’t really do much with the inward angle as they go lower. I think I may go for the medium (pk389-35r00-p1) because I have skinny tires, but I do want more of that protection than stock

Does anyone have any of the Canadian flaps that didn’t fit that they’re trying to get rid of?

Also decided I need to take the truck in for a wash
