Shock top hat failure on our stock 2024 Tacoma Off-Road while offroading

@cranny Which dealer are you talking to? I'm on FSRs a lot, and I would be pissed if this happened, but then double pissed if they did not allow me to use a simple after market solution. Sorry brother.

Thanks. Squamish Toyota. They've been really good other than telling me that the Icon plate may invalidate my warranty. I don't think another dealer would be helpful and living in a small town it's not really realistic anyway. Regardless, I think the icon plate may stop a catastrophic failure requiring a tow or limping out at 5 km per hour but I'm not certain that it would stop the actual top hat from breaking.

I posted about this same idea my first time around and even ordered the icon top hats but my dealer said they may void my warranty!

10 minute job to take them off…

I have a buddy that works for Toyota (corporate). He specifically deals with warranty issues over several dealers in at least two states. He told me about the issues with the struts, and recommended I install the Icon caps. I think we are fine.

I've had the icon plates for a while now. They can be installed with the truck on the ground. Don't even have to take off the wheels

Just got a 2025 offroad premium, does anyone know if this problem has been fixed in the 2025 models? I just took a picture of the Top hats they look the same as the 2024, not sure may if the part is updated?
