UPDATE: Just heard back from the case manager again and she confirmed with the local service manager that the behavior we're all talking about works like that on all Tacomas. Obviously we all knew that. Anyway, she said the service manager did report it to engineering. Long story, short it's probably not going anywhere but maybe if enough people go through this, we can get it into a software fix. They closed my case but I thought I would mention the end result and hope others can start a case of their own.
I kind of get why they have to, but I hate when they close your case after they pass it on. It isn't resolved, you just moved it up the ladder and washed your hands of it. Keep pushing the issue for me, and spend some time trying to figure it out. But, at the same time, nothing official can be done at their level, and metrics and all that.

The saga continues...

I got a call from a case manager. The phone number indicated it was from the Toyota Battery Manufacturing center. The case manager was very receptive to getting the details of this issue. I'm still a bit shocked that they are not more aware of this, but yeah, she listened and said she was going to run a test with our local service manager to see if they can replicate the issue. I'm pretty confident they will replicate the issue. The real question is what happens after that.

She asked me what I'd like to happen with this issue and I told her I believe it is a software bug that would need to be addressed with an update to the software. We'll see how far this goes but I thought I'd post an update for anyone that's interested!
How did you open a case? I'll gladly do this for my issue too. When I took my TH in for the 10k service, I showed the service advisor the issue about the TPMS monitor not sticking and even got it to replicate before leaving. He toyed with the settings before I left but basically shrugged his shoulders and essentially said 'oh well.' It pisses me off that this is a $65k truck that over the last year or so has started to feel more like a cheap toy. The HUD position not sticking, the cheesy awful sounding JBL center speaker when you take it out to use it, phone bluetooth not auto-connecting when you remote start the truck. It's a bunch of really little things that are all starting to add up and get frustrating.

It’s wild this isn’t resolved in a routine software update
