That would look like hurricane season in Florida except the bottles would be eight 5-gallon cans of gas for the portable generators

Got my Husky Aeroskin Hood Protector on. Getting chips on the hood, and I hate PPF.

So how do like the hood protector ?
I am really interested in that one
I think the smoke color would look great on my celestial silver metal flake with blacked out features
how was the install ?

I've been wanting the Aeroskin since I saw it in the last SEMA show videos. I followed the install manual and install video. It was painless. Despite my best efforts I'm off by a millimeter or two from it being perfectly centered, but it's not really noticeable. I'm very picky about that kind of stuff so I'm probably being overly critical. Due to the geometry of the hood, it's pretty easy to center.

Pulled the Dobinson C59-819V springs off the rear, and installed C59-821V. Dobinson recommended the 819V, but with the weight I have on the back I didn't get any lift. If anything, I might have been negative. I'm still waiting on something for the fronts. The Dobinsons were on backorder for 2 months, and I finally canceled the order. I ordered Alldogs from Runnin 4 Tacos because they had them in stock.

Picture of before. No pics in the weeds yet with the 821V's. The poor truck dragged over everything that week.

Today I installed the bed step $95 from Amazon. This install gave me problems. I followed the advice from a previous poster about running a bolt through the holes before installing the step to clean the paint out of the holes, and this worked to an extent. I managed to bugger up 2 holes a bit and messed up the treads on 2 of the bolts. I fixed the problem by running a 10mm x 1.5 tap through the holes and the same size die to clean the threads on the bolts. I used WD-40 throughout the entire process to lube the bolts and holes and they still got buggered on the 1st try. If you do add a step, I recommend running a tap through the holes first. you can get one at Lowe's for about $9 if you don't have one. You have to use a box or open end wrench to tighten the bolts as there isn't enough room to use a ratchet. I don't think a ratchet wrench would fit either, but I didn't have a 14 mm one to try. The last thing I did today was add my Retired Army tag holder and Vietnam Vet tag to the front of the truck.
