Finally sold the ARB Sports bar, to a 3rd Gen Tacoma owner. Was not my cup of tea. I could have settle for ARB full bed rack instead. It should have been optional. I'm looking into a mid rack that will work with a hard roll cover instead. Didn't know that the sport rack fits a 3rd Gen. Figure I pass the info on for those trying to sell theirs.

Washed my truck and decided to check the air pressure in my iso seats and my drivers one was almost empty so if you have a pro and the temps are dropping give it a check

After receiving the final piece of the skid plate puzzle I installed them and proceeded to cross thread one of the rear transmission skid plate bolts and had to take it off for now. I called RCI and told them what I did and they immediately sent out a new bolt and spring clip. I was willing to pay for my screw up but they did not charge me. This is excellent customer service. I am going to be buying more things from them.

Not today but a few weeks ago I removed the badges and stickers. All they do is collect dust and dirt in the cracks which are difficult to clean.

Finally, one more thing was I paid off the loan today. I took out a loan with Toyota Financial so that I could receive the military rebate which was $750. That would have been a lot of money to leave on the table. I was told that I had to make 3 payments so today I made my third and last payment. Financial freedom is a nice place to be in.

Got some center caps for my steelies

Getting them on was a pain in the ass, combination of punching, rubber mallet and kicking eventually did the trick. Was considerably more violent than anticipated.

The replacement bolt and spring clip came in today from RCI for the one I broke. I offered to pay for my mess up but they sent them for free. Therefore, I decided to give them some more business for their great customer service and ordered some LCA skids. They also came in and I was able to reinstall the transmission skid plate and the LCA skids. My Dynamat sound deadening material also came in but after spending over 2 hours on my old back on the hard concrete driveway I decided to put that off for a few days. My back and tail bone need to recuperate. I will likely start with my headliner first and do the roof which has zero insulation from the factory.

KO3s installed a few days ago.

My truck is happy, my wallet still won't talk to me, I'm expecting divorce.

Had Duratracs (fairly worn 1-2 seasons left) before this and I'm not sure if it was a just improperly balanced or what but man what a difference.

ZERO shake until you reach 130kph and the shake is still minimal, like I'm driving on air; absolutely no noise either. My Duratracs were stupid noisey and the vibration shake was embarrassing. I could watch my ditch lights shake viciously and hook scoop bounce up and down.

I just hope they perform just as good in deep snow tracking (or hopefully better)

Sidenote, first alignment check at 55,000kms, everything wasn't bad at all, but my cross camber was bad at 1.1⁰ After all the potholes I smoked and rough side by side trails I've been down, I expected worse.

Today I had a chance to begin my sound deadening project and started with the roof because it is the most challenging part. The factory puts zero sound deadening in the roof because it will not reduce the wind noise unless you have a roof rack or lightbar up there. I have neither so you may ask why did I do this. Good question and there are 2 reasons. First, I live in Florida and we have a lot of heavy thunderstorms which makes it sound like a loud echo chamber. This is both annoying and distracting and may be a safety factor. Second, I also put a closed cell foam layer which is a thermal barrier. This is like adding insulation to your attic. It will make it cool down faster in the summer and warm up faster in the winter. The last picture shows the 2 clothes hangers in the rear. One has the cover already installed and the other does not. If you install the hanger into the roof and then try to install the cover you will likely pop the spring clip into the headliner. You will then need to undo the work you have already done to remove the headliner again and retrieve the spring clip. Ask me how I know. Never mind..... just a rhetorical question.
