Never remember to post here, just browse, but this is what I've done recently. Installed my Xtrusion Overland 8" bed bars as well as my iKamper mini 2.0 I got for a steal on marketplace. Then installed the Wolfbox G900 pro rearview mirror/dash cam since unfortunately the iKamper blocks the OEM mirror. Took it up in northern MN for a fun weekend with friends!

Installed some Crux tint on the sides of my headlights, reverse lens, and 3rd brake light, not the happiest with my install, I should have done a wet install but I wanted them on now, maybe I’ll order them again next summer and do it again

Today I had the opportunity to continue my sound deadening project. The factory does not include any sound deadening that even my 3rd gen truck had at least one strip in each door. I only had time to finish the front 2 doors with a layer of Dynamat and Dynaliner on the outer skins of each door. The last 2 pictures show the front and back of the door handles and locking mechanisms. I have done 5 of my own cars and trucks over the years and 2 friends vehicles but have never had such a hard time popping out the trim piece under the door handle. I wedged the trim tool over the lock and under the trim piece and had to use so much force that it knocked the locking button off the track. It was a challenge putting it back together. Using a hook tool works much better.

Rolled it off the lot and took it to Hector's shop to get windows tinted and clear bra protector on the critical spots. Leveling kit, wheels and tires will be next.

Lots of new owners list window tint as 1st mod. Help me understand, what are the reasons?
appearance?
cooler cab temp?
UV protection for interior?
prevent those outside of truck from identifying occupants?
This is legit question, what am I missing, I’m old, owned probably 10 or more vehicles in my lifetime, never had a window tinted

@lane47 We’re currently in the process of moving to Nevada. Triple digit heat is the norm out there. Window tint definitely helps

When I get a chance I’ll get window film added to my truck to block UV. This keeps the interior cooler and slows the sun’s damage to the dash and rest of the exposed surfaces.

I have not decided yet if I will get anything that darkens the windows since we go camping and we have to look around and back up in the dark sometimes. There is clear tint that blocks UV. Might get that or a very light tint. There is darkened tint that blocks UV and cheaper darkened tint without UV.

I prefer good visibility. On my hatchback (a fishbowl) which I used to commute in, I have 70% tint on the windshield, hatch and windows, plus a 5% sun strip at the top of the windshield. I used my air conditioner a lot less after I got that installed. It’s Llumar ceramic tint, which was the best available in my area at the time. That was in 2022, and there are even better tint film brands available this year.

Depends on your preference and budget. A good tint shop can advise you.

Good point here. Honestly, I went too dark with mine. It’s pretty tough to see at night. I also plan on getting a topper soon. Which will make it even more difficult.
