41.22 wireless kill switch install on Tacoma Hybrid

Thank you for a great video.
I bought a cheaper Kill Switch and screwed it all up.
I would like to get this one, even a klutz like me could install it, BUT, there is a serious problem.
My Tacoma is the 24 Trailhunter with no alternator, and the battery is under the rear driver's side seat.
I would have to penetrate the firewall, and I think I read somewhere that there is a hole by the false pedal.
I will contact the company to see if their wire will reach back there.

I don’t understand this product. I mean I understand how it works and what it does. But why does anyone want to carry around a second remote when buying the wireless one.

here in Canada where vehicle theft is a big deal, what thief’s do is capture your keys RFID frequency and then they are able to start your truck. so what stops a thief from just capturing the signal from your OE key frequency and the one on this 41-22 unit. You can be sure the frequency on the 4122 will be less sophisticated than the OE frequencies allowing a thief to just capture it as well and reproduce it.

You do you. Maybe get a remote battery disconnect/ it’s the CAN BUS attack you’re more worried about. Remember tho if someone wants your shit bad enough they’ll tow it away at 3am. The cool thing about the wireless kill switch is no fking wires to trace, you could bury it in the vehicle in a hidden spot/ leave the backup there or have one fob in the house and simply carry the OE and if you’re parked out & about and want to use the kill switch, there’s one buried in a secret spot

Good point about only using it at times when parked in sketchy areas. what I’m going to do is have a TAG installed in mine. I don’t believe any of their claims. Anyway to each their own like you said. The TAG system makes sense and gives a discount of about $500 per year on insurance depending on provider in .canada. It’s $400 to install it, and the “tags” that are installed last 5 years.

There’s additional security that was dealer installed on my TH; I have a Rockledge Security system on board / opted not to pay the sub in it when I took delivery but it definitely works (found out months ago when I was attempting to the start the vehicle from digital key on the phone after multiple failed attempts), that hardware is imbedded.. aside from a kill switch I run a steering wheel to seatbelt lock only at night, I have an OBII lock on 24/7, 2 AirTags one in my gfc and another buried deep within a locked goose gear rear delete. So even if it gets towed & CAN BUS attacked / new starter solenoid the works… police can ping it, clock is fking ticking for these douche bags.

remove the battery when catching a flight out of town (super PITA for hybrids), can even get a motion sensor for that’ll ping you at night if it measures a bump or movement. And I disconnected my tailgate button on the driver console (can’t smash the glass and drop the tailgate).

That sucks that Canada seeing a lot of vehicle theft but that shit can happen anywhere at anytime to anybody

The thing with the TAG system is they guarantee recovery, so it takes the burden of the loss off the insurance company. in all honestly if my truck were to get stolen, just keep it, I wouldn’t want it back. I keep mine parked in a garage at night and at work it’s never out of my sight. Pretty pathetic this is what owning a new vehicle amounts to in modern times To be honest.
