My VIN is affected. Never had any issues with the 12 inch screen. The 14 inch screen will often hang and freeze up especially when I just have the screen on not the engine running. Although I always suspected that was an Android Auto issue.

Oh you mean the "when safe to do so, stop and check messages for more information" lol. Not much of a safety issue at all really

I mean I take it to mean that the entire digital tach just goes dead (black). I could see that as a safety issue lol. No speed indicator, meters, etc.

Be affected on the recall list but companies do this because during a certain production period a particular batch was used that they believe will have issues with. So instead of only fixing the units that are having issues only, they are being proactive and fixing all batches during the production period.

I came from a CX-5 that I actually ended up having to replace the infotainment screen. That there's now a class action for, that had a "ghost touch" issue where the screen would repetitively sense a touch and basically lock up until you restarted the car.

Hopefully it's not that bad lol.

I got the email as well, and have had this happen randomly during driving. The screen just goes blank but I can usually wake it back up. Since no remedy as of yet and doesn’t happen all that often, I’ll wait until next service period.
that's the thing tho, the recalls are separate appointments at the dealership apparently. Can't take it in for scheduled Toyota Care service and have the safety recalls done at the same time. At least that's what they told me when I called on it today
