Any Mt Bike riders out there? I use my Taco to get me to my favorite trails. This is my Trek eXe Mt eBike before my ride. Never thought I would love my eBike as much as I do.

I used to MTB a ton before I got my 4th Gen. But I got tired of the "which and plummet" riding in my area, with 30-45min gravel road grinds just to get back to the top. Maybe I should have bought an e-bike.

I only kept my Chromag hardtail, and I ride Enduro and trials motorcycles more than anything nowadays.

I also have a Pivot Switchblade and I keep going back to the eBike. I dont use the electric assist the full ride and only on climbs for the most part. Beauty with this bike is that since its all carbon (frame, wheels, handlebars, dropper post etc) it keeps the weight low and handles like a non ebike

Oh yea. Rip city up here (Bellingham, WA). I used to ride a Transition Sentinel, but switched to a TransAm during a trail running training block and have come to love the hard tail!

I am a trail steward In addition to rider. My Tacoma is a good tool for my trail building and assisting other area trail stewards. I hope all of you riders contribute to your area trails. We always need help whether that's your labor, donating money, or both. It is pretty much that way all over.

As for gear, I like the long bed Tacoma a lot. It is all the difference for work, but is good for inside of the Fas-Top bike carry too. If reasonably modern geometry and wheels I don't care about bikes like I once did. It's mostly hoping myself as bike engine will get me well into my 70s before I might have to consider one. It's sweet the e-bikes exist for special needs like I likely have ahead, but for now I'm hoping my old body can do a lot without that for a while.

Yup

You don't stop riding because you get old. You get old because you stop riding.

I apply that to MTB riding, road bike riding, moto dirt bike riding, and even long distance pavement moto touring.

I also try to hike 500 miles of trails a year.

Yes, I'll eventually get some ebikes, but I'm only 65 and am trying to get as much exercise as possible every way I can.

I try to get out on my e-mtn bike at least once a week if my schedule allows ... it's one of the reasons i'm glad I went with a 6ft long bed 👍🏼

the trails in Marin and Sonoma are truly fabulous 🌲

Love mountain biking (no e-bikes here), gravel riding and moto riding. Been riding my Husky and Harley-Davidson a lot more this past year after healing from a badly broken leg.

Ive been trying to find the best way to haul my bikes since switching to the Tacoma. I have parking ramp height restrictions at my office that keep me from mounting to the Kuat Ibex (which Im now selling for that reason).

Grew up riding dirt BMX, got into mountainbiking and when I cant mtb I go gravel biking on a trail system behind my house.

Former avid MTBer here. After a job relocation to an area with only one overcrowded trail and no 9/80 work schedule, I found myself unable to carve out the time for a day a week on the trails. Sadly, my bike is rotting in the garage. I used to downhill and cross country ride.

I use a 1UP bike rack for my Giant mountain bike and gravel bike. It’s a little easier than my old setup where I had to take off the front wheel.

FYI - you don't *have* to have the ebike motor on all the time. :)

I'm not quite to your age, but not far behind, and I enjoy my Specialized Creo for road & gravel. I use the assist to take some of the "suck" off of the steeper hills, and otherwise ride with zero assist.

Check out 1UP USA bike racks. https://1up-usa.com/

I have a Heavy Duty single, and an Add-On for when I need to carry my wife's bike as well as mine.

1UP isn't cheap, but they're well made and if you ever need to repair something the company offers a lot of parts so you don't need to replace the whole thing.

I do have a hitch mount bike rack, if one of those models swings away or something though thats probably what I need. WIth a bed cover I need to open the tailgate to get riding gear, but then the bikes in the way. Im being overly picky, but life with a bike was easier in my Tundra.
