I, for one, hope that this goes somewhere for you. I fought that fight last year and it went nowhere. They really do need to fix this!

I'm hoping the recall fix for the gauge cluster going out (software update) will fix this issue.... fingers cross. I just got the letter for the remedy being available yesterday.

Nope. It didn't. TPMS still rolls off the gauge setup after 10 min of vehicle shut down, even after gauge software update.
(I too was hoping a fix would be bundled in)

Guys, this is sad. “You are the first person to bring up an issue with the Tire Pressure settings issue.”

Glad to hear all those case submissions go into a black hole and Toyota isn’t tracking them as reported issues….

Maybe dealer level vs corporate level? That being said not a lot of hope. Also.... does this not affect everyone? I wonder what the difference is; maybe that Toyota app? salesman tried to get me to set it up but I canceled / denied a lot of permissions (I don't need an app for everything....)

I stopped using the app after the first free year membership expired. So doesn’t have anything to do with remote start either. It’s certainly a software/electrical bug. The blanket ‘radio screen going blank’ is also just hilarious to me. It’s a $65k truck guys like come on.

You are the first person to bring this to our attention is the standard line for customer service. Apple does the same thing when you bring up an issue at their stores.

I still find this funny.

This bug is so far down on the backlog that you'll be lucky if it's even fixed before you buy a new car.

It's annoying, I agree. But it's such a small bug that it'd not even on their radar, nor do they probably care.

I watch my tire pressures religiously - and every time I set the screen it resets back to “Trip B” the next time I start my truck. Will toyota come up with a fix? It only does this for the tire pressure screen and it’s driving me nuts.
Mine used to do that too and I only noticed because I installed aftermarket wheels and tires with new sensors and I was trying to program it, which btw was such a HASSLE. I finally got it to register and show tire pressure but would always have to look for it again after turning the car off. BUT, recently out of the blue, it's been there! Only thing I can think of is a software update fixed it... Try it again, maybe yours will work too now 🤔😆

Everyone, I seem to have found a potential solution to this issue. The recall didn't do it. A full infotainment reset didn't do it. Making the change with the parking brake on didn't do it.

Some context; I work in the information technology field but otherwise when I'm off I'm a bit of a luddite. As such, I declined connected services because who needs that stuff? I bought a six speed for a reason...

Then as I read up on what other people experienced (with other vehicles using the same dash as well) I came to the realization that this was most likely an issue with those services and the related driver profiles that could be set.

I poked around and could not find a way to create a local profile in the infotainment, so I got on the Toyota app and accepted the connected services EULA for my truck and synced my profile. After setting everything up again - it seems to be sticking (tested over a few days, at least 10 hours between restarts every time - it normally would switch off TPMS every time). It loads, but I also see a notification in my infotainment that it is "loading my profile" and I see options to add / remove profiles (including maybe local ones) in the infotainment now (inside the options menu).

If you are against setting up Toyota connected services I understand, and perhaps there is a way to setup a local profile (maybe you need to setup connected services, create and make a local profile the "main one", then remove your online account and reject connected services again) but if you are OK with it (the app tells me I get 10 years of free service and safety connect) I would give it a try accepting it and creating a driver profile within your infotainment options to see if it resolves your problem finally. The key is to see a profile set, and the ability to add / remove profiles.

I will @ some of the last people talking in this thread so hopefully you guys can test, report back, and get some relief with this issue. Apologies in advance if you didn't want to be bothered.

Yea, I just recently disabled my DCM and have actually never seen a "profile" (second time I've seen his mentioned in the last couple days). So I guess I'm just SOL lol.

Not a big deal, I just switch the TPMS view on when I need it. Annoying though.

Weird that it's tied to the Connected Sevices however.

It must be a glitch with the profiles; I don't think connected services are necessarily needed if you already have a profile (perhaps a local one). I wonder if there is a way to sync your phone app directly to the infotainment, maybe through USB? I could not find a way to setup a local profile, but maybe there is - maybe you can check with your dealer to see if its something that is possible. I didn't want to connect but I was busy (which is why I haven't been able to lock in and really dig into this) so I went with the fastest / easiest way of creating a profile. I've never seen a profile before this as well, but this is where research brought me and low and behold they exist. Or if you are willing, reconnect to services, create, and then disable again. No guarantee it'll keep working after that (I'm still testing myself) but it a potential fix and I honestly think we are closer to to the root cause at least.
