Hey everyone — just for fun, let’s say you’re a Toyota designer. What’s one thing you would add, remove, or change on the Tacoma — and which part of the truck would it be?

The drink pockets on the doors are very unusable, especially in the front two seats. Would have done a different layout as the rear two are not accessible when the door is closed and at least one should have been oversized to accommodate 40 oz vacuum bottles. I also would have flipped the qi wireless charger so that the status light was up top and not buried in the bottom corner where it can't be seen.

At least two memory controls for the seats and side mirror settings.

I'll throw on one more but not something you all can address - fix the tpms display bug!

Improve the design of the AUX switches. I'm average height at 5'9" and from my seat position I cannot see the labels on the bottom rows without contorting my body while driving. Just as bad is that I can't see the darn indicator lights telling me what is and is not on because they are located near the top of the switch which is obfuscated by the lip of the row above it. Just put the light at the bottom of the switch so we can see it more easily. It has happened that I unintentionally bump a switch or forget it on and then only figure it out after other drivers start flashing their lights at me. I'm actually considering getting a completely different switch setup just to solve this issue. THIS is where the switches should be for anyone who really uses them!

Hope ya'll are getting paid for the ideas you're giving to the cheap Chinese knock off company.

Change the emergency button from the right side to the left side. Whose idea was to add it so far from the driver. 🤷🏻

Main change is sacrifice a bit of cabin space for more passenger space. I know when I had my 2nd gen double cab, the back passengers had enough space.

Other than that I’m satisfied with my purchase. Just hit 20,000 miles no issues. :)

- The front grab handle needs to be so that you can put your hand through it like the rear handles.
- The clear plastic over the dash cluster needs to be more vertical so it doesn’t catch so much dust.
- The oil filter drain funnel needs to be about an inch longer so it doesn’t drip on the frame.
- The rear seat straps to hold the bottom of the seats upright need to be a hook instead of a snap button
- The volume knob on the infotainment needs to be bigger
- The window controllers need some white designs on them to see them better in the day
- The plastic skid plate/cover should some type of metal and also cover the oil pan

Other than that, the truck is perfect!

Agree with pretty much what you listed.
The knob is easily fixed by replacing it with the RAV4 knob, about $15 at the dealer. It matches the other knobs better and the Off Road rims too.

I've had my 2025 for 1 year and 11k miles. There are so many things that make this truck great but there are two things that I'd love to change about this truck:

1. delete the power tailgate - its overly complicated to satisfy safety concerns and its an unnecessary "upgrade"
2. larger gas tank
