10.1 miles, to the nearest dealer to my house. I just happened to check on manual transmission availability in their system, and it showed that one was available there.

I had spent 10 months looking for a TRD Offroad 4WD manual transmission. This was the first one I had found in California.

215 miles one way. My three local dealers would not find what I wanted. The only thing they would offer me were the trucks on the lot. Durango (CO) Toyota found what I wanted and ordered it for me. Delivery took just shy of 3 months.

Drove about 150 miles to a dealership that had not only absolutely no preloads (add-ons) but offered a discount as well and their business model is that you only deal with one guy throughout the sales process. No pressure at all. I also got above KBB for my trade in (Grand Cherokee).

1,201 miles from Denton Texas to Melbourne, Florida. My dream build was supposed to be released in September 2023. TRD Sport, BlueCrushMetallic, 6MT, 5-ft box, and premium package. Didn't' get delivered to dealerships until June 2024 and all on the exact same Saturday.

One in Michigan, two in California, and two in Florida. Looked at a map and immediately called Toyota of Melbourne. Bought a one-way airfare ticket for $79 from DFW to Melbourne and the salesman picked me up at the airport. Handed him a cashiers check and drove my Taco back to Texas.

Best roadtrip of my life. 34,000 miles on the odometer and three speeding tickets later and i couldn't be happier. And for you speed freaks like me know, the 4th gen Taco tops out at 108 mph. Bummer coz my 3rd gen Taco topped out at 113 mph and my 2nd gen Taco topped out at 118 mph.

LOL between summer 2024 and now.

Google Maps shows the freeway trip to the dealer was 45.9 miles, and the backroads or 2 lane 55 MPH speed limit trip home was 44.8. My Tacoma was in essence meeting it when it arrived and no one else had ever driven it except for the delivery and prep. Reading the break in instructions at dealer prompted taking the off freeway trip home.

Edit: I made that trip because that dealer had a rare for our region build from dealer allocation trade, and that dealer's niche is giving better deals than the ones in the bigger metro area. The local dealers were not giving discounts and they offered less for trades.

250 miles, the local one kept finding ones with too many options, or options I flat out didn't want (Predator Steps). Ended up going to my hometown to get the options I wanted (14" screen) and not too many others (Bed Step, which is actually useful, lighted LED emblem, which is not, but whatever) and the color I wanted - Black.

San Diego to Tustin. Maybe 80 ish miles, but i timed it with a trip up to visit my mother in LA, so it was on the way. Did the paperwork, "took delivery" in their parking lot. Dropped the Camry off at mom's place and the two of us drove back from LA to get it (so another 30 miles maybe). My Dad's driving my 2003 Camry around now. That car is going to outlive me.
