Today I had a successful crossing of Medano Pass from Great Sand Dunes NP west to east on Medano Primitive Road to CO SR 69 in the Trailhunter which performed flawlessly. That is what the Trailhunter was made to do.

Eventful start to the week. On Monday I installed the Alldogs Offroad front springs (thanks Ken @Romer for the suggestion). Very pleased with the stance. Maybe around 1.5"-2" lift, which was all I wanted. I wanted an adjustable front assembly, but these will work for now.

Then Tuesday I installed my C4 winch bumper. Extremely please with that, too. I only had three issues with this install. First, my old Warn XD9 with the 6hp XP motor didn't fit the cradle. The motor was too long. Fortunately, I still had the original XD motor, and it fit. Tight, but it fit. The second issue was a minor one. The bumper comes with a "bridge skid." The 1/4" cap screws it comes with were too long, and ran into the crossmember. I cut them in half and solved the problem. The third issue is I now have a front radar error. No idea what's up with that.

About the sensor error. I contacted a buddy that works for Toyota (corporate, not a dealer). His answer,

"That is normal when the millimeter wave radar sensor is disconnected. Generally, if you didn’t disconnect the battery before starting, it’ll recognize it was disconnected even if the key was off."

"Rear sensors are just sonar. No millimeter wave, so they don't care about getting unplugged. Front is *technically* supposed to be fully recalibrated anytime it's disturbed. It'll be fine if they clear codes tho."

Thanks for the heads up on disconnecting the battery.

Thanks for the heads up on disconnecting the battery.
i was told by my body shop to replace the grill i would have to get a dealer to recalibrate the safety sense radar at a cost of $1200 . went on here to check if that was true , was told to disconnect the battery b 4 doing any bumper / grill work . Body shop reports successful grill swap no recal needed 😎

Installed a front/rear VIOFO a229 pro dashcam. Used the Dongar pro for power and ran the rear camera wire around the a-pillar airbag, zip-tied out of the way.
